In the museum of the Cathedral of Girona (in the cathedral) remains the hallmark of Ermesenda. It is a blue chalcedony seal incised inscriptions. The inscriptions are in Latin and Arabic and say Ermesidis and translation in Arabic. The inscriptions are in mirror so that by checking the sealing remain legible.
The Chalcedon is a high quality blue, translucent, with no color bands.; To our knowledge, chalcedony that resembles it most is that of Turkey (we know of no other such like). In fact we would not know to tell the difference might be that in fact the seal of Ermesenda chalcedony comes from Turkey.
