Chrysocolla
It is a copper silicate that began life as a kind of gel that hardened over time.
The name derives from the Greek chrysos - gold and kolla - glue, referring to its use as a 'flux' to solder gold.
It is usually presented accompanied by a quartz matrix.
Mineral of second origin, it is generated in deposits of oxidized copper where it can be mixed with malachite and/or turquoise.
