Trained in jewelery at the Massana school in Barcelona

Passionate about minerals, a passion that led me (together with Josep M Serrano, colleague and partner until his retirement in 2019) to learn about carving or stoning and take the first steps at the Robert Celades carving club in Barcelona. Once we were introduced to the fascinating world of precious stone carving, we began to take an interest in the material of gemmological interest that was closest to us, so we did a study on the gemmological material of the Iberian Peninsula, work that it occupied several years and ended in an exhibition at the Natural Sciences Museum of Barcelona, ​​an exhibition entitled "Gems of the Iberian Peninsula, the great unknowns", this exhibition, which consists of nearly 500 gems, is named, " Bagué-Serrano collection", was acquired by the Natural Sciences Museum of Barcelona (Can be seen by making an appointment at the MCN of Bcn)

We have also made more exhibitions, on the gemmological material of Catalonia and on the gemmological material of Girona.
I am currently cutting gemstones in the form of a cabochon, faceting and also carving.

At Gemmeterra we do not work with treated gems, that is, neither dyed, nor irradiated, nor with resin treatments, nor infiltrated, nor etc...

We are located in the natural park of the Garrotxa volcanic area. Space that is a source of inspiration.
On the other hand, when we started cutting, we saw that acquiring tools and machinery for lapidary was quite complicated, so we became importers and currently we supply all kinds of diamond tools and machinery for lapidary, we also guide in their use, because the trade lapidary for many years was a very closed trade, there was no training and it was quite unknown.
Although Catalonia already in the Neolithic there was a large nucleus in Gavà where material was extracted, cut and imported of high quality as was the Variscita. Throughout history in Catalonia this trade has been very present.
